People hate waiting...both offline and online. Don't keep the visitors waiting to see the content of your web site. A great web site should be fully loaded into the browser within 3 seconds. A great web design has low page weight. A low page weight means that the total number of the page content (text & images) is less than 30 kilobytes. This can be accomplished by using fewer small images, linked style sheets instead of embedding it in the page and using DIV tag instead of TABLE tag.
